Hi folks, new guy here from beaver/Brighton township. TooFast98Cobra talked me into signing up cause I'm either always asking him if he knows anyone who wants to buy my junk....or if he knows where I can buy other junk. Heh ;).

As for my car...I have this 85 gt I bought last November that I've been trying to finish. It's a California car and has only been in the Pittsburgh area for about a year now and was 70 percent done when I got it. It had all tubular suspension, coil overs, sub frame connectors and a built 351 Windsor based 408 stroker. Motor details = 10:1 compression, victor Jr heads and intake, and a 248/254 .609/.609 custom ground hydraulic roller

the bad = stock t5, stock 8.8, no cage, stock driveshaft, no loop and still 4 lug. Oh and the exhaust is a little undersized. Plus a couple other odds and ends I'm sure I'm forgetting that need to be updated to get it tech legal and safe

I recently finished redoing the 8.8 with strange 35 spline spool, axles, and their c clip eliminators made for the street. Converted to 5 lug in the process all the way around. Also added an aluminum driveshaft and loop.

Right now now I just finished converting to efi(one of the new fitech systems) and I'm building a 4r70w to replace the t5. Still need some things to finish that... The plan is a street strip car that drives well and hopefully has a 10.7-10.8 in it.

Now to figure out how to add pics....

Hmmmm not a clue why some are upside down.... Anyhow here is the first start after adding the efi. Pardon the mess. I like to throw tools all over the place when I'm working, take videos, then clean up.

Thanks folks! Appreciate the good words.

Nitrous would be fun wouldnt it? Actually if I get away from the NA game, its going to get supercharged. The heads are the 60cc chamber victor jr's and the shortblock has some huge forged dishes to keep it right around 10:1 NA. Basically all I'd have to do is tweak the ring gaps and start using a 70cc head and Id have boost friendly compression at under 9:1. At least that is the route I keep telling myself I will go if I get bored with it naturally aspirated....

Unfortunately just waaaay too many other things to get right yet before it can even safely/legally handle the power it makes now, so that is well down the road.

Definitely need a roll bar/cage and the transmission update. Those are the two biggest expenses ahead of me.

I have A 4R70W trans from an 01 mustang and recently picked up a lentech manual valve body.... but I still need a shifter, flexplate, trans cooler, GOOD lockup converter, rebuild kit for the trans(it worked fine when pulled.....but while its out I figure I'll just go through it), and I'd like to add a better trans pan also.

Plus it only has 1 5/8 BBK shortys and a 2.5 BBK X pipe with magnaflow 2.5 mufflers/tailpipe out the back, so that aint helping matters...

Id lke to get all that stuff right before I even think about trying to throw more power at it yet.

And to boot.... we're planning our wedding for next year, so most of our expendable income is going towards all that. Right now I've pretty much been financing this build by selling other parts that I dont need so that we can save our regular incomes for the wedding.

fun stuff right! It's getting there though. Slowly but surely.

Welcome! You're so close to Purvis in Cranberry/Mars I'd leave it at 10:1 and spray methanol with a supercharger or turbo.
