If anyone knows me they know I think foxbodies are ugly but gotta hand it to them on weight and seeing Alot at drag strip. I recently pulled my h/c nitrous motor out of my street camaro and a 6.0 to favor a Huron speed v2 tt kit that it will be a guinea pig for. So I started looking at foxes and I am a cheap ass and I think they are ugly so I started looking for my favorite body style sn95.. which can be had for half as much. Now internet numbers are all over the place on to actual weight. Does anyone here have some real scale numbers on a sn95(94-98) and Fox body weight numbers? I don't care if it's in race status or not but it will give a real number. this is the only mustang site that doesn't mess up on my phone..
Going to look at a Fox roller today for 1200 with no hood but still can get a full running 94gt for 1500 lol.

They are both lighter than an ugly ass camaro so its a no brainer.

Well my other camaro weighs 2900lbs with me in it so it can't be too far off.

In fairy tale land, does it really matter what either car weighs? I smell a fish story.

4th. It's a 99, but has every tubular suspension piece out of chromoly, no radio/ac/heat/Ozite carpet/no ps/ kirkey seats and Alot of jolbert weight reduction (secret squirrel stuff) bunch of small stuff that adds up. it will get heavier because it still needs cage. Will probably be around 3050-3150 after that I think.

Using Google can do you wonders. But, not being a douche in all seriousness Scott, here is a really good thread on SVTP in regards to weight. It has quite a few guys who actually have weighed their cars with them in it and some even specified the amount of fuel in their car as well. You can check it out here:
http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/showthread.php?691644-What-are-realistic-weight-differences-between-Foxbodies-and-SN95-s
I've always been a big fan of the SN95 body style, especially with the SVO kit on it, but some of those Fox bodies are really nice. I think it really depends on the way you set it up. Majority that we see are beat to death, and I think large in part is the reason why a lot of people think that Foxes are ugly versus the SN95's That's just my stance on it. Honestly, the difference between the fox and the SN95 is only going to be ~ 500lbs, which if you're doing the LS swap and putting the 6.0L in, I wouldn't even worry about the weight difference. I'd just go with the SN95.
A solid weight number on the scales was 3180# for a SN95 and 2860# for Fox Coupe. I've saw numerous claims on this number as well. Like I said, I'd just rock and roll with the SN95 if I were you.

I tried Google but numbers were all over the place and really couldn't find people that actually weighed there cars. The 6.0 is going in the camaro and the ls1 is going into whichever I buy. I posted up on sn95 forums and got some good numbers that I am ok with so I am going with a sn95.. I have owned a coupe, actually the same coupe twice and I wasn't happy with it then and probably won't be again so I am going with a 94-95 cuz I owned a bunch of them and loved them.

Understandable. I guess since I'm active on a lot of the forums I know which topics to flip through and not even bother with to a degree. I still don't think the weight difference will really be a deal breaker in the end to be honest with you. I know if I were in the situation you're in I would have went with the SN95 rather than the fox body. That's just because I with you, have always liked the SN95's. I like my New Edge a lot too though, which is why I bought this one. I had a beautiful Atlantic Blue SN95 eyed up but when I went to go look at it, it was in pieces and the guy told me "it runs great". I just laughed and left, considering it was supposed to be running great when I got there so I could drive it. He had so much goop on the thermostat, no wonder why it wasn't running. Complete idiot..

Haha.. well I am going to more than likely grudge the car and for the camaro to look stock it's hard to do that and get it light. My other camaro weighs like 3600 with me in it and that's too heavy. If I can get away with 3100 with me in it while looking stock (except for the big and littles. I will be okay because I know the motor makes enough power to put it in the single digits.

1/8TH mile?
1/4.. I'm not even close to being fast enough to run the 1/8th mile grudge cars here. The fast fast guys only run 1/8th while the slower guys like me run 1/4. Once camaro is done I may switch it up and make it 1/8th mile fast who knows, but that costs numerous penny's and I have been spending too much money on cars lately and need to slow down.

My dad's car weighed 2700lb with him in it. 89 hatchback fox body. 347 stroker iron block, ground pounder tubular front suspension, carbureted, dual stage plate system, steel hatch doors and fenders, with a functioning heater, and a 10 point cage( not chromoly). You can get the weight down, you just have to be creative. We took five pounds out of the wiring harness.

I have a pretty hard time believing some of the weights I see put out there for these cars. I never weighed my '95, but here are the numbers from my '84 GT race car from last year. All iron motor, carbed, stock K-member, fully gutted, 10 point road race cage, one race seat, factory hatch and glass (no glass in doors). After I weighed it I removed another 40 lbs by gutting the hood and doors (factory crash beams were only 15lbs per side, have seen people claim they weigh 40 a piece). It was weighed with me in it, weighed 230.
