H&R SS or Eibach Pro-Kit in my book. Both go great and give a perfect drop with no isos. Any lower, and I highly recommend MM coilovers.

Thanks for the input.. I'll have to look into the H&R SS kit since its been recommended twice now.. I need to see your car in person soon Barry so I can take a look at it..

I got mine out today. I took it for a small drive. I'm going to wash it, clay bar it, wash it again, then give it a really nice wax job. Try to get it looking nice. Then I'm going to try and clean the engine bay this year, its due for a cleaning.. Let me know when you get yours out this spring, I'd like to stop out and see it in person. Plus it'll give me an idea what those springs are looking like for when I goto order myself some!

What are your plans for the car this year? Do you ever go up to the Wexford meets? My girlfriend said its supposed to be really nice so I think were heading up there this year. Plus they have one down at the Pittsburgh Mills, so I'll probably hit that one up too.. I went to the one in Meadowlands on Racetrack Road (McDonalds) a few times last year with a few of my friends.. Some pretty nice older cars show up there, definitely a nice time. Any of you guys interested in coming this year, I'll post up some dates of it, so everyone knows

6 miles were on it when I picked it up. Apparently these cars are transported from the factory in a "shipping mode" so they can only be moved around and not beat on by the transport drivers. So the dealers have to take the car out of shipping mode and drive it a few miles for full power to be allowed.

I don't think that's true. I was there when my '13 was taken off of the truck. Nobody drove it but me. My car had 4 miles on it. They drive each car a few miles at the factory to make sure there are no issues.

Now they did have to take the car and put inspection stickers on it, but it was never taken out of the dealer lot and driven. Maybe they changed it then?

O Well. Either way I'm waiting to see pics of your '14!

Had to put the stock springs in the rear on Friday. Packed the car up for a road trip last weekend....with a full tank of gas and kids in the backseat, the 245 rear tires were rubbing the fender well lip. The entire car rides on springs from a 1998 Cobra. The ride was good and stance was right on....but practicality was less than ideal. So I threw it up on the rack and in about 20 minutes had the stockers back in.

I didnt bother stripping it because it was pretty clean so I just washed it with armor all soap, cloth dried it.
Then I used Meguiars Gold Class wax and spent about 2 hours getting it completely waxed to get that gloss look. It came out good. Ive never used the gold class before but I think it went on extremely good and its easy to wipe off. It was dirt cheap at Walmart, I think 10.97?

Yep he's right......mine aligns perfectly in specs and I don't have them......keep in mind Saleens are lowered from factory and they don't have them either. You will just have to drill out the rivets that hold them in place. The rivets are used for assembly line only and can be removed. Gives you a decent amount of travel once you do.

Do you have a pic of the rivet that needs drilled? I'll tell them at the ford dealer tomorrow to remove them if they need to.
Edit: I'll look in the morning. I'm sure the ford dealership will know to remove them. Thanks for the tip.

Edit: On a side note I just filled up here in Milton, Ontario at $1.429/liter for 94 octane, or roughly $5.25/gallon!

Mine was 4 yrs old when I bought it and it had less than 14K on it.....now it has just shy of 73K lol

That's pretty cool man! I'm excited to start traveling a bit. I've been working every other day, 12 hours a day so it's going to be nice to switch positions into a more uniform schedule working grouped days. Plus it will be nice to get out to different places.

On my turbo Focus I finally started to tear down my first motor that was puking oil out the exhaust manifold. It's been on the engine stand since 2009.
Head gasket does look damaged, so I'm expecting to find crispy rings when I pull the rotating parts.
On the shelf are forged pistons, rods, Cosworth flywheel, SPEC stage 4 clutch, ARP studs, etc. Need to get a limited slip or I'll be the one-wheel-peel king.

Drove it to Scallys driving range and hit a few buckets. What a gorgeous day!

On my way out of the driving range a girl saw me getting into the GT and said she really liked it. And...then she said she is picking up her own Sterling Gray Metallic Mustang this week at Woltz and Wind Ford. She was really excited about it. And quite cute - long dark hair - about 5'6" - and very fit and toned. Anyone on here know her?

Never would've thought in my wildest dreams a gutted '84 Mustang would weigh this much, but it does. Cage must weigh 400 lbs. 227lbs. over minimum weight for the class. ****. Torqueboxer came over last night, and we were finally able to get the car to idle at 1200. Car wanted a ton of initial timing or it refused to idle without the curb idle on the Holley being cranked until it was in the primaries, so we took the MSD distributor apart and locked out the timing at 32 degrees. Made a few adjustments until we got it to idle around 14.5 to 1 AFR.

Ended up going to a Porsche club autocross today to work out some bugs, made five runs, car went a lot faster than I thought with some fuel starvation under braking and in corners (need angled floats and jet extensions), and some unknown origin R6s. After 5 runs one of the adjusting nuts on the rockers stripped, so I had to load the car up and call it a day.

Made some progress on the car this weekend so far. Friday dropped the heads off at Evanuik Performance to get freshened up. Today stabbed a TFS stage 1 cam in, painted the short block, timing chain cover, and intake. Put on the swap oil pan pickup and timing chain cover. Started removing A/C components. I'll try and get up some pictures tomorrow. Hopefully get it inspected this week and start yanking the 4 cylinder finally.

Dynoed the AS car today. Stock shortblock, custom Lunati solid flat tappet 241/241@.050, 108LSA, .499 lift (class limit on valve lift), untouched GT40p heads (aftermarket springs and retainers, stock valves, stock valvejob, zero porting), untouched Performer RPM intake, box stock Holley 600 DP, 1 5/8 headers. Made 295@6300, pretty much held that power until I let off at 6600. Off the trailer made 275, we found ~15hp in timing changes (26*to 30*), and about 5hp or so in jetting changes. Thank you to Torqueboxer for all the help through 15 pulls of trying to sneak another couple hp out of it. Still think there is a bit more in it, AFR got rich after 5000, went from a nice 13.0 down to 12.3 at peak power.

Also tried removing the 14x3 ghetto paper filter to see if it picked up power, no discernible difference.

I have a dyno sheet from the third pull before we cleaned up the jetting (did not affect peak but improved under the curve), will post if up. I think we have more left if we can get the afr cleaned up after 5000, even when we were able to get it to maintain 13:1 throughout the pull, it dipped to 12.3 above 5000 to 6600. Prob leaving 10hp on the table. I was surprised how flat the torque curve was for how wild the cam is for a 9:1 302. Shitty heads and induction probably helped.

Sad to see a solid looking 84 GT-350 sent to the AS games.

It is a sticker package dude, and it has been a racecar since the 90's.

Okay, Sport. Btw, from what I have read, just shy of 400 HP at the flywheel is the benchmark for AS..... which should translate to about 340 WHP.... you have a ways to go.

The car is actually a limited production 1984 1/2 Ford Mustang G.T. 350 20th Anniversary Edition. True the performance was the same as standard GTs, but it was more than just a stripe kit. To verify it's a real Anny look at the buck tag on the radiator support. It will say "ANN" if it's legit. It is a rare collectible Fox (not to be confused with valuable, or disposable!) it was 1 of 2604, 1 of 934, or 1 of 362 depending on engine. It's a sure bet less than 1/2 of those remain. And it makes me sad to ponder its fate since I have participated in AS and AI races. But it is yours to do with as you please. The dude abides.

20th Anniversary GT350 - 5,261 units
5.0L 5-speed convertibles (4V carb) - 587
5.0L AOD (automatic) convertibles (CFI) - 670
2.3L Turbo 5-speed convertibles (EFI) - 104
5.0L 5-speed hatchbacks (4V carb) - 2,604
5.0L AOD (automatic) hatchbacks (CFI) - 934

Since you seem to be so knowledgable about the class, you should also know these guys have 15k+ in these motors. Ultra lightweight internals, neutral balanced crank, they typically run 15-20 more degrees of duration because they have the rotating assembly to support 7500 rpm (I obviously don't), valve job, better valves, Edelbrock has an AS legal head that guys see 40 hp gains from (from what I am told, doubt 40 considering it is basically a performer rpm head that flows a bit worse), etc.

I am using a stock shortblock, untouched heads, a cam custom ground so it will make the power exactly where it does so the motor will live, and a bunch of other used junk. The thing makes exactly what it should.

If I find the badge you are speaking of, I am going to post a video of me destroying it, because I could give a **** how rare the car is. Sport.

From what Mark has said, this car is not a trailer queen. It wouldn't be worth it to restore it to factory condition. So why get upset that he is racing it? These GT350's will never be worth much unless they are in perfectly preserved original condition, and even then it is highly unlikely that they'll be worth more than a 2-year-old Toyota Camry. And sorry - hoping that someone puts a car into the wall is simply NOT cool. Period. I have met and received driving instruction from Mark and he's a good guy who knows what he is doing, and I wish him well with this car. Being competitive in a car with less power than the competition - and for a significantly smaller $$ investment - is very cool in my opinion.

Look, as long as I have been on SCS, Mark has been a smug prick to me. Whatever, we are not friends, I don't care. But when he starts attacking me over my opinions about stuff, I'm going to fire back. Learn some humility. Just because rules change and cars get faster doesn't mean you are a better driver or know more about anything than the guys who came before you. Our lap times may not be as fast, but we were pushing what we had at the time to the edge of the envelope. In road racing, that meant going deep and fast enough into turns to make you wet your pants so we could carry more momentum. Today, it's a different game. But no more competitive. And I have you beat, because when I was club racing, most of my piers liked me. Guys like Mark Donohue were my idols.

As far as my being sad for the fate of a limited edition Anny Mustang, f*ck me, I thought this was a Mustang forum??? It's not like I protested, I just said it was sad. From there I knew you would come back with some sort of insult, I was just waiting to laugh out loud. And now your bully buddies are piling on. You don't even know your Ford history. The GT-350 was a pet project of Edsel Ford, because Mustang sales were slumping and all Ford cared about was Escorts, Tempos, and F150s. Edsel sent down the word that there was to be a limited edition 20th Anny Mustang and it would also give a nod to the original Shelby 350. When word trickled down through Ford that Edsel was still enthusiastic for performance Mustangs, it paved the way for more performance upgrades in 85, 86, 87, 89, 93, and gave berth to the modern pony car. Without that humble but sincere push by Edsel, the FWD Probe/Mustang could have been a reality.

I truly hate this Forum.... what a waste.

.

I have never been a smug prick to you. We both know how this all started, I practically gave you a bump steer kit, shipped it to you, then you complained about the condition. I offered to give you your 40 bucks back or whatever it was, and you declined. Not sure what you wanted.

Then somehow you stated that drag racing is harder on an engine than hill climbing is, and of course as usual you bragged about your years of experience, and that you never held the car WOT for as long as a typical 11 second run during a 2 minute long uphill run so of course no one else does. Of course I didn't agree and neither did anyone else because it made no sense.

Now you come in this thread and try to discredit me or what my car put down or whatever, like it put down any power anyway. I wasn't bragging, just showing what a simple low budget rules limited solid flat cammed engine can make. That's it.

You act as if everything you say is gospel because you did things before some others have. Well it isn't. If you say something stupid, especially when you are talking down on me, I am going to respond. That is how forums work.

Of course cars run faster times now, mostly due to hp and tire tech. I just suggested I would stomp you on my bicycle because you said you wanted me to hit a wall. I felt the response fair.

Me a dick? No one respects me? Come this weekend, or any event, I assure you my peers have respect for me as they supposedly did you(which I highly doubt). I have also met many members on here sold parts to, raced with, drank with, etc. I doubt you will find too many that would say I was a dick, except for went9s. Maybe a couple others.
