well as you know we did the rear end almost 2 weeks ago now. we used the poly iso's and it was a BITCH to get them in there. but we finally did it and immediately i was unhappy....it sat too high. not like the C springs i usually run. so we gave it (12 days today) time to settle and its still too high. it looks to sit even higher now with the front being lowered. Timmy finished the front last night. didnt use the iso's up front due to not being able to fit them in at all. he tried for a while too.

so now im unsure what to do. should i A) keep it as is, it will settle more...if not at least i can run a bigger tire in back. or B) remove top rear iso and try to level it out some more?

here are some pics.

#1 is out front of my place.
#2 is in a more level lot
#3 is the rear up close
#4 is front up close

try bigger tires... if you take the iso's out, it may wind up being lower again in the back

i was only gonna take out the top iso and leave the bottom in :dunno:

Personally, I think it looks good. Most foxes have the back end all worn out and squatting down like there's two dead goats in the back. That has a nice rake to it. Looks old school. It should settle some more. 12 days ain't that long. Put a couple kegs in the back and drive around for a while. Hell, bring 'em to my house. I'm only about 20 miles further than Rodeheavers. :lazy:

J-rod

well you know that deal. :)

so now about my stance......

George C

my C springs sat like that before

now depending on where the pig tail is will determine how the car sits in rear

if pig tail faces the driverside it will be lower, if pig tail is facing passenger side then the the car will sit higher in rear

J-rod

they face the driver.

they face the driver.

then you could always take off some of the coil to drop it some. no isolators = squeaks

Any Idea how much difference there is with this? I was going to add a spacer to my drivers side, but might play with the spring tomorrow and see what I get ;) Right now the passenger side is higher, so put that pigtail to face the drivers side (lower), then make the drivers side pigtail face the passenger side (higher)? Cant be this easy can it?

Just to add what was said, cionsider the tires you are going to run too. This was my Capri with 225/50/16's on it:

And with 245/50/16's.....

http://inlinethumb17.webshots.com/144/2385926490066453426S500x500Q85.jpg (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2385926490066453426QtJEka)

I've gone back with 225's as the 245's were to big on the rear of this car with the SVO width rear axle, but have switched springs so the 225's look better, but cant go any lower to fit my 26" tall QTP's. I like how yours sits now.

Back is still too high IMO. If you take out the ISOs you can wrap the end loops with friction tape to ward off squeeks.

The back looks higher than before you did the fronts, never seen that before. Did you delete both front isolators?

tim can answer for sure....but i think just the bottom.

here is a pic before the fronts were done: not the best.....my dad was a little too far away

ok tim just told me he used the upper iso but not the lower.(thanks tim)

so now what to do?

u1arunit

If the rear has isos still being used, remove them and use the friction tape over the last coils on each end. If the rear comes down the front won't look as, or be as low.

J-rod

you thinking remove both or just top?

edit - should probably try the top or bottom first and not both (dont want to go too far)
( ironic im removing these...i wasnt going to buy to begin with. $40 pissed away. lol)

They are easy enough to try removing just one first. That's what I'd do.

LMM platinum

A couple years ago i got those for my car and when i put them in it lowed the front and raised the back higher then stock. I didnt know if they were the wrong ones or what. But I just took them off, returned them and got a set of eibaichs for it. So im not sure if thats a commin problem with them or if the convertible springs got mixed up with the coupe springs.

i think lou gets them made off the eibach springs... which should make them the same, just different springs... correct me if im wrong, but i thought i heard this..

J-rod
04-07-2007, 12:54 PM
i thought they were more like FMS C springs...but also heard the eibach ting too.

after looking at it some more....i have decided i think i will try removing the top iso and using tape....then if i dont like that i will remove the lower too. i think maybe just removing the top will level it all out

on my hatch i had LMM springs and isolators and i have my pig tails facing the passenger side to help it get out of weeds. when it was facing the driverside it was too low

Yesterday, I spun the drivers side spring so the pigtail faces the passenger side, it made no difference in resting ride height. I still have the same drivers side lean, same amount as before. Looks like I need a spacer (or cut the PS spring ;) ).

get that spacer. i know tons of guys running it

thats odd those cars are leaning. never had lean with good springs and shocks

J-rod
04-08-2007, 09:22 PM
the fox's are prone to this "lean" especially with stock parts.

wick

None of mine ever leaned. The only lean they had was front to back. The rear always sat lower.

The rear end of my notch sits high. It has ground pounder front and rear springs. I hate the way it looks, should have went with Bullit rears.

3 of mine never had it. if they did i never noticed. all of them also had FRPP springs. 2 had C springs and the notch now has B springs

car could be twisted

ive talked with a ton of guys on MW and corral....and they all had some of the lean...especially with stock parts....since my new springs and shocks i dont have any lean.
