Finally got to get the car out this year went to a track rental at Milan on Friday.
Got a late start on a nasty hot day, was about 88* and then 92* on the two best passes, track was almost 120* and slick.
Best of 9.60 @ 148 about 13psi with a 1.56 60' off transbrake at about 2psi; backed that up later with a 9.64 @ 147 1.57 60' off TB at almost 4psi.
Made 7 passes, all 146-148mph except a pass I peddled first and went 145mph, all picked up about 30-32mph back half.
Made the required passes to get my license.:pepper:
Trans is a 2.40 first AOD (improved Lentech Strip Terminator by Sean at Collins Automotive Repair Service in Michigan), 10.5" billet cover converter by Mike Ridings in MI, 3.10 gear in the 9", 325/50/15 MT DR.
Did not have a line-lock, 2-step, or launch control/boost controller working and no datalogging, just ran off the spring in the wastegate and shifted it at 5800rpm, converter dropped about 8-900rpm by my eye, A/F about 11.5 in the traps at almost 6000rpm.
Also prior to this I had the tune improved on a Mustang dyno (also at Collins) and it is ready to rock at 19psi, just sounds pissed off.
Does hit a wall by 5800rpm with the long-runner intake, requiring the switch to 3.10s (and a search for a Super Victor and an elbow). Converter looked great on the loaded dyno, only 5% slip top end.
So, I'm very happy with the first test passes and can't wait to test the potential when better prepared in better conditions.
I loved the way the auto performed and know the switch was definitely worth it.
Got crazy work week this week/weekend, but will try and have video of the dyno and passes up soon.
BTW, when is that King of Street race? ;)

Congrats! Wait until you can be on the brake and two step then use the controller to ramp in boost depending on the track. That thing will rock.

A little more boost and it's going to need a chute!

Thanks fellas, a guy at the rental got at least one vid, I will find and post the youtube link later, no access here at work. My vids may take a few days, probably next week.

Probably just better weather and traction at the same boost will hit 150mph, but its good to know there's over 115rwhp waiting with the controller.
Funny thing is that I just planned on making an 1/8th mile hit first pass, but it felt so good I just stayed in it. Foot braking is very weird too, I was ready for the TB by the 3rd pass.
TB is very much like side-stepping the clutch Bob......don't be scared you might like it
Car is at Team Z now, getting a chute, 8.50 cage cert and wiring tweaks.

I know Bob, will be here shortly, probably going from Team Z to either Milan or Norwalk on the way here late Sept/early Oct.
Looking forward to hopefully making a pass at PRP this year.

Search 'you tube' for videos by '93turbolx', should have a pass on there, can't see it from work :(
Link it here if you find it please.

YouTube- J 1ST PASS.wmv

Here is the vid my friend got, lucky it was the best pass.
ARB was binding if you notice a bit of a lean to the passenger side.
I have some better vids and one of the dyno to post later.

Nice buddy! You gotta love a going working AOD. Let me know wow the transbrake holds up. I thinking about putting one in mine.

I thought you had an ARB on your car?

Thanks, and yes the AOD is great so far, very impressed on the smooth shift and how it handled the beatings on the dyno and hot track.
I went with -8 lines to a front mounted F350 cooler and -6 lines back to a smaller subframe mounted cooler. Pistol grip shifter worked well.
You don't have a TB? Man, I would hate to race without one. Granted I wasn't boosting it on the foot brake, but the TB was WAY more fun and should be great for launch consistency.
I do have an ARB, but it was binding on the first 4 passes, needed an adjustment.

Dang that is deceptively fast. Especially for as soft as it looks to leave. I like, I like it alot :2thumbs:

No TB for me. Back when I built my AOD almost a decade ago, I wasn't really sure how the trans would hold up leaving off the TB. I still footbrake mine but have been considering put the TB in. Glad you got the ARB figured out that thing was really leaning in the video.

Gangsta lean :)
Couple guys doing MVB with brakes now, Silverfox even talked of building a RMVB with TB if someone wants one. I actually like the forward pattern after last weekend but never tried a reverse pattern.
