ah ok.... is that the one where they say that its racing that is supposed to represent what you would find on the street but bringing it to the track to race in a safer manner (or something like that)?

Pretty much but the prize is 10G's and an $8000 NAPA tool box. Plus the money you bet during the last couple rounds. They give the quick 8 1000 each to bet with.

I'm gonna try my best to make it to one of these, for sure!

The issue with these seems to be the timing of your attempt to register more than if your car is neat enough to get in. Maybe the novelty will wear off enough for next year that it will be easier... but I doubt that for anything at Norwalk.

I hear ya Bob, I'm thinking I might just spectate and camp overnight like last time. Kinda a gong show last year, would be frustrating to race.

This just in, the folks at PINKS: All Out have given Summit Motorsports Park an additional 25 participant entries to sell on December 7, 2009 at noon (EST) for the August 27-28 event (spectator tickets also go on sale at the same time). A total of 425 racers will be able to compete, but we expect these to sell out Monday and when they're gone, they're...well, you know. Driver entries are limited to door cars with an ET of 12.99 seconds and quicker on the quarter mile.

Drivers can ONLY enter via the phone (419) 668-5555 or online at SummitMotorsportsPark.com. Sorry, but we cannot accept driver entries at the race track. If you're a driver read all the details here.

Better get the phone lines going for 12/7 to get registered.

Curiously, when was the last time they taped an episode where the cars cluster was in the 12's?

I was thinking the same thing, they're always 9-low 10 second cars....unless I just never saw one.

I saw a high 11 show one time. Also saw a show where they were rushing and gave out two winner prizes. Anymore though it seems like if you cant leave bumper dragging, you really dont have a chance. Never know though.

Thats the impression I got. It kind of confused me because I thought the idea of the show was to represent what you might find on the street. Even when I lived in philly 9-low10 cars werent exactly on every corner and these cars are skating on the thin edge of the page of street legal.

Most all of the cars in the "All out" format are drag cars in some fashion, most are full on race cars, it seems lately more and more good bracket cars. Effectively, they seem to pick the closest cluster of 16 cars that will still sell advertising ;) Actually, i seems they are looking for 16 that are really close to each other and repeated on the two passes so they end up with a good show. Beyond the arm drop start, nothing there to resemble street racing, maybe more like old school drag racing ???
