I have been sneaking up on the tune with this new combo. Put a little more boost in it tonight (21 psi), and was on a new set of slicks. Every incriment was new bests for the car on this pass (except 1/4 MPH). Still struggling with down track boost but sneaking up on that too.

60' - 1.62
330' - 4.91
1/8th - 7.71
1/8th - 78.60 MPH
1000' - 10.21
1/4 - 12.30
1/4 - 108.62 MPH.

There still inst much timing in the thing, and I'm boost limited until I get another set of injectors (72#'s). I think the timing will help me with the boost down track.

Thanks everyone. It's far from tuned, but finally starting to run as expected for where it's at. At least the MAF conversion is right on and the car is leaving now.

Chuck -Saw one of your passes, car looked good. Heads up.... I got to do something about that :D

Rick - I didn't see you run much, what was the issue? Got to tolerate the T5's, not much choice for me.

Brian - Nobody I know was taping. I would love to see my second pass on tape as it went left hard on the launch, then again when I pulled second. 2 more #'s in the RR bag fixed it, but it was a fun ride :3gears:

Track was amazing last night for a TnT night, lots of hook on the line.

Nice Bob! Is the 1/8 mph correct it seems low

Is the 1/8 mph correct it seems low

Sort of typical for me. I have a 3-4 shift that happens between the 1/8th MPH beam and the 1/8th ET clock. It messes with that combo at times. If I spin, I shift quicker and it lines up better. To race 1/8th mile I have to go across the stripe in third against the limiter. If I actually run 1/8th mile then the package matches up better.

It's funny if I play with the Wallace Calcultors. If I enter that 1/8th package it nails the 1/4 MPH, but predicts a better 1/4 ET. I'm still just speed shifting this now so that likely explains the ET.

Your 1/4 Mile ET is 12.11 seconds computed from your vehicle 1/8th ET of 7.71 seconds.
Your 1/4 Mile MPH is 108.62 MPH computed from your vehicle 1/8th MPH of 87.60 MPH.

Car was looking good lastnight Bob. I'd say it will push 11's once sorted out. Also first time I can ever remember the traction around starting line being that good on a TnT. I know I managed a 1.59

Thats not what Chuck wanted to hear...lol. I thought it was pretty good to, however my car will 60' good on any track.

Well if Chuck would stop roasting the crap out of the mickeys and let a few more pounds of air out(try 15). I had to keep adding air to my slicks and sixties dropped each time I added air.

I was real happy with the track for a tnT. I actually would have liked for it to be a little more greasy and really saw what the new tires where worth.

Chuck - Have you had anyone tape your launches? Get rid of them radials and get some race tires :D I'm a convert for sure.

Put slicks on it!

See the 60's above. My best ever before full slicks was a 1.67, with 1.68-1.69 typical. There is still a ton left in mine now. Slicks rule ;)

I think I saw that run, congrats for sure! I ran with no tune after my full exhaust install.
Pulled my best reaction time to date my first pass .04 but kinda bogged off the line. Practice tree event I went too, payed off. My second pass, my reaction was a .08, and I ran my best mph to date 99.
With a quick go over and tune, change to some racin oil. Take my spare tire out, clean my intake maybe pick up a K&N, get some octane booster. Thought about runnin Zmax or some Lucus lubricants. I then should be able to get into the 100mph club and hit mid thirteens, hopefully.

I think I saw that run

Should have stopped by and said hello. I see cars there and never put user names with the cars beyond the guys I know.

It's fun to watch guys try to cross over that 100 mph barrier. I've seen everything possible pulled out of cars to get there :D

Watch the octane boosters. Most of them are snake oil, mostly kerosene. Also, you only want as much octane as you really need. Octane slows the burn rate to resist detonation. If you have higher octane than needed, you can hurt performance. Most of the off the shelf bottle stuff raises says it raises it 3 or 4 points. What that means is 93 octane goes to 93.3 or 93.4. Hardly worth the $$'s IMO.

BTW - I had a new besgt 60' at QCR of 1.61. Slicks seem to be coming in ;)

I may have found a combo for the burnout that would work... it worked for the last pass Saturday, 1.65 60'. I think Ed just wanted a shot at the DR's at an affordable price. :sticktonge: Slicks were on it Sunday, 1.67, 1.67. I just don't like how they feel like they're wandering a little with the big car.

Brent, X2 what Bob said about the additives and octane. You're thinking correctly... weight is free horsepower. Take everything you can out of it, spare tire, jack, passenger seat. Glad to see the reaction times are good, keep it up!

Bob, sorry we really tangled up your thread.

Glad to hear your car is running good. And thanks again for the tire advice you gave me, the ET streets are hooking much more consistently than the radials ever did. I just got my two step hooked up this week and already I'm loving it.

That's cool Mike. Glad the tires are working out.

I will have some real thoughts for you about slicks, but so far. yeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwww w!

I just did a cam swap yesterday. I think we went too big with the first one. First impression on this one is GREAT. We will see what the track says ;)
