Supercars didn't all look the same in 1959

Scroll down ... Don't know if anyone went to the PVGP over the weekend, but this Alfa caught my eye. It's a 6C 3000 CM from 1953. So I did a little research. Alfa built 6 of these pure racing cars, 4 coupes and 2 open cars. Very nice looking car as it was. When they were done racing them they gave one to Pininfarina to do what they do- style cars. The first photo is of the car as it was at Schenley Park, but photo is from Amelia Island Concours event (I didn't bring my camera). Chassis number is 0126. Pininfarina kept restyling the 0128 car over the years- look at the end result in 1959! This is how to get the girls. And check out the machining on those massive inboard drum brakes and DOHC straight 6. Car will be coming to auction in August 2019:
